A funeral, a memorial is a Celebration of a Life passed,
A declaration of our thanks and gratitude.
And a fond farewell.

Funeral and Memorial Ceremonies:
We hold a funeral/memorial when someone close to us dies.
We hold this rite of passage to say a fond farewell to our relative, our friend,
to commemorate and celebrate their life.
To acknowledge the way they touched us, in body, mind and spirit.
As we say our goodbyes we experience the natural loss
of their closeness, touch, laughter and presence.
We acknowledge our feelings,
allowing sadness and grief to arise
as a natural response to our loss.
We also allow love and heartfelt wonder to come
as a natural response to having lived closely with our friend.
We acknowledge the gifts we have received from our friend,
who lives on in our hearts, for us to feel, with every breath that we take.
This funeral/memorial is a Celebration of our friend's Life!
It is a celebration of all the love, life and joy they have given us.
A funeral/memorial is our way of saying ‘Goodbye’
to the intimacy of physical form.
